Chiiiicken….

Oh, what a beautiful mooorning, oh what a beautiful day! I’ve got a whole corn-fed chiicken, and I’m a-roastin’ away!

Yes, there is now chicken of a delicious nature in my home. My mom swung by Hayward’s Grocery and picked up a whole free-ranger so that it would soften the blow when she dumped a load of work on me on my day off, lol. Well, she was right, it did!

We’ve got it roasting up in our brand new, cheapie Aroma roaster thing-it right now. I wish we had some oil and a useable USB so I could take a pic of it, because I’m always a little *too* proud of my poultry.

Needing a Dining Vacation

So, I hate Missouri. I’ve lived here awhile and I’m still not used to it – the insane weather, the mega swarms of insects, and worst of all, there’s nothing to do so I end up working 24/7. What I wouldn’t give to go back to Southern California, even just for a few days. I miss the laid back atmosphere of Anaheim and Oceanside, the ocean, the theme parks and the restaurants in San Diego.

There are no restaurants out here, for the most part, that you can be seated in and have a four star meal. In fact, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen one in the county, and there are definately none in town. I’m tired of fast food or no food, and I wish there were a way to find great dining out here, sort of like the service they’ve got set up over at CafeSanDiego.com. They’ve got a website set up to help you find great San Diego dining, on which you can find great places to eat via their search function, on which you can narrow your search for a restaurant on search terms as specific as neighborhood, cuisine and even atmosphere.

The nice part about this San Diego dining guide is that you can search for coupons if you’re broke like I am, and because of that I thoroughly plan to use the site once I’m in a position to go back to California, since Laota and I have already planned to move out there as soon as we’re financially capable of doing so, and using coupons for, say, African cuisine would be a great way to celebrate us being back in our home state!

Well, as you can probably see I haven’t had anything to blog here – why? Because I have no internet access on my laptop, which is the only pc in the house with working a USB port, and I can’t get my pics off of my camera and onto my desktop to upload them, which is a shame because I have some neat new stuff.

New stuff described! Laota and I bought a brand new toaster and a brand new 4-cup coffee maker, and a brand new electric roaster which makes fabulous panko fried chicken! We’re saving up now to get a Brita water filter pitcher and a other neat junk, one thing in particular is a desktop dishwasher that costs about $200 and a hand mixer that costs about $10 ( yes, cheap! ). We also want to save up for the rest of our lives and get a Kitchen Aide mixer thingie, I love those and I’ve wanted one for years. :)
